Roland Petit 這位跟POB巴黎國家歌劇院芭蕾舞團有著不解之緣的二十世紀一代編舞大師 於2011年7月10日　病逝於日內瓦家中 享年87歲 謹悼念他　Rest in Peace Roland Petit 出生於1924年1月14日, 9歲就進入巴黎國家歌劇院芭蕾舞學校 1940年進入POB巴黎國家歌劇院芭蕾舞團 1948年成立巴黎芭蕾舞團(Ballets de Paris) 與紐瑞耶夫等有名的舞蹈家共同進行創作 1955年擔任好萊塢電影"長腿叔叔"的編舞 1965年重回POB巴黎國家歌劇院芭蕾舞團創作兩齣舞劇Adage et Variations and Notre Dame de Paris. 1972年他創立馬賽芭蕾舞團(Ballet de Marseille)　並擔任舞蹈總監26年 (Mathieu Ganio的爸媽就受到他的影響,辭去POB的職位,跟著他來到馬賽,所以小Mathieu從小就在馬賽生活,並進入馬賽芭蕾舞團學舞) 2010年他重返POB指導三齣舞碼的演出The Young Man and Death, Le Rendez-vous and The Wolf. Roland Petit個人創作豐富,生涯創作超過百部 其中,由紐瑞耶夫等舞出的"年輕人與死Le Jeune Homme et la Mort(The Young Man and Death)"及”卡門Carmen”　”阿萊城姑娘L'Arlésienne”等短舞碼舉世聞名,而"追憶似水年華" "鐘樓怪人”等在POB演出的全幕舞碼,也是部部有口皆碑 法國的各家媒體紛紛報導著一代編舞大師的死訊 Zizi Jeanmaire and Roland Petit in beautiful pas de deux choreography by Roland Petit.
